Professional nerd! Meaning that I got a master's degree in mathematics (in 2003 - so it's quite a few years ago), with a minor in computer science; and a job as a UNIX-systems engineer.
My main topic of studies was complex analysis.
I have used Linux as my only OS for well over 20 years. For most of that period Debian has been my distribution of choice.
