I'm NOT asking about the algebra that I already know. It's NOT intuitive why 3 pears x 4 tangelos = 6 quinces x 2 raspberries $\iff$ 3 pears/6 quinces = 2 raspberries/4 tangelos.I stumbled [the picture below](https://www.ck12.org/assessment/tools/geometry-tool/plix.html?eId=MAT.ALG.703.04&questionId=5446cde4da2cfe0c74e9e61e&artifactID=2040326&plix_redirect=1), but how does it proffer intuition?- ![](https://dr282zn36sxxg.cloudfront.net/datastreams/f-d%3A87e34646a78d6acf061d3c0728bfe19fd543a484a365fc61493023cd%2BPLIXIMAGE%2BPLIXIMAGE.1)

I'm NOT asking about the algebra that I already know. My 8 year old child understands both sides = 1/2, but it's NOT intuitive why 3 pears x 4 tangelos = 6 quinces x 2 raspberries $\iff$ 3 pears/6 quinces = 2 raspberries/4 tangelos.- I stumbled [the picture below](https://www.ck12.org/assessment/tools/geometry-tool/plix.html?eId=MAT.ALG.703.04&questionId=5446cde4da2cfe0c74e9e61e&artifactID=2040326&plix_redirect=1), but I don't grok how it proffers intuition?
