OP says they meant to say "variable," not "function."
What's the meaning of dummy function?
- What is a dummy variable (in an integral)?
While I was learning Gamma and Beta function. I saw that they wrote $x$ is dummy function. What did they mean by dummy? I know that $x$ is changeable.- $$\Gamma[n]=\int_0^\infty e^{-x}x^{n-1} \mathrm dx$$
