# BODMAS and PEMDAS

There's very known two rules BODMAS and PEMDAS. Lot more rules exist like GEMDAS, GIDMAS etc. But, BODMAS and PEMDAS are very known.

#### BODMAS :

B : Bracket
O : Of
D : Division
M : Multiplication
A : Addition
S : Subtract

Everyone understand the rule very easily while they can't understand PEMDAS, I was also one of them.

#### PEMDAS :

P : Parenthesis
E : Exponent
M : Multiplication
D : Division
A : Addition
S : Subtract

Multiplication places on Division(RTL -> Right to Left). Every people don't want to agree with it(BODMAS and PEMDAS are same).

But, I have confusion that, what is Of in BODMAS and Exponent in PEMDAS?

Exponentiation is repeated multiplication, just as multiplication is repeated addition. As for the O in BODMAS, when I learned about it in elementary school, I too was taught that it was "Of", but that is likely because we hadn't been taught about powers then. It can also stand for "Orders", which is still a bit confusing (at least to me), but it means the same thing as the E in PEMDAS: Exponentiation. user‭ about 2 months ago
